Well in wakefield AMERICAN GOLF they do not sell used golf clubs , they send them to london

After burning through several more modern putters I wanted to get back into a blade. When this latest version of the 8802 was released I got one pretty much unseen. Took it to the course first chance I got. Didn't get to take it on the practice green, went right to the 1st tee. First putt was about a 10-12 footer that didn't do much. Bang! It hasn't left my bag since.

I’m a bit of an iron snob. Been using Wilson staff, three different sets of Honma forged irons, Miura’s etc. On a whim I bought a new set of Cobra LTDx one length just for shits and giggles for only $360 USD. Now I can’t take them out of the bag. They are so much fun and I’ve shot my lowest scores with them. For the record I’m a 6 hcp. Now I’m considering the 22 version of the Forged Tec one length. Have them sitting in my Amazon cart right now.

I have just yesterday tried my friend’s one length speedzone 3 hybrid. And all I have to say about it. It is Fucking amazing. It was dead straight for me. I am ditching everything I have between 3 wood to 4 iron and getting these hybrids. Should have tried this way sooner.

Great vid as always Simon but as you've proposed, a question for you - I currently play of 15-18 (hcap of 8 some 10 years ago but at 64 years old now, age and lack of fitness have caught up with me) and game the original Wilson FG Tour irons alternating with the ego clubs, Wilson FG 100 blades. Any major benefit in trading in both sets to get the Wilson V6 as this is the only way I could fund or justify any possible "upgrade"? BTW, Wilson player for the past 50 years lol.

I´m new to gold and i have a 3 iron. (which ocasional hit very well) why should I buy a 4 and 5 iron club and some of this sets?

I think anyone spending this kind of money for clubs is nuts. Buy a used set and enjoy your savings. I but a set of irons for $200 and sellthem later for $100- no big loss or outlay.

I have these and love them, got a 56 and a 60 for cheaper than a single real one and dont regret it

I bought a used set of Calloway XR’s. 1st off I am an older guy. I had bought just the driver to replace another brands in the bargain set I had. There was a big difference. I noticed the same inconsistency with the rest of the set. So it was time to upgrade and these will probably do it for me. I want to work on my technique not fight equipment.

I love buying beat up dirty putters and make them look like new.if a putter is just stained/dirty I use toothpaste with bicarbonate soda good scrub normaly does the job,if scratched and full dings I use a dremel sand dings out and then polish it,also I like autosol chrome cleaner this is really good stuff.what did you do with that putter sell it ?

I agree with the concept, but if you have the wrong shafts you’re costing yourself 5-10 strokes a round. That can help improve tempo, but there’s no need to handicap yourself to do that.

I worked as a bartender at a golf course before i ever played. Boss insisted i play a game or two if i worked there. Old head at the club offered to give me his old golf bag and i went out and played with them every few days all summer. Clubs were from the 60s with some that looked older. I feel like they made me better at the game

I just picked up a new Wilson Staff D7 four hybrid for AU $135 delivered. Cant go wrong at that price for a new club. I also have the D7 fairway woods and i cant fault them.

ping i210 6-pw+uw , ,,, when looking for a 2nd hand set it was clear the wedges sell for alot individually .. so if you get a 4-pw youve still got wedges to buy that might not blend with your set plus you have a 4 iron you might never use. i wanted all my irons and wedges to be the same shaft/heads so i went with i210 6-pw+uw and added 56 degree ping glide wedge. the set blends aswell as you could hope for {the pw+uw blend well with the irons and glide wedge.}, they all feel unique with heads/soles etc. i wanted a set that would feel good to use and blend easy whilst not breaking the bank. i also got adams {super s} 4+3 hybrids which are great,, something that also stands out with the i210 is how light the clubs are compared to a wilson fg tour v6 or apex pro forged. so far iam very pleased , the ping i210 has a good vibe and overall balance .

That’s a par 3 course not P&P. A proper P&P course has a max 70mtr for a hole and whole course not exceeding 1000mtr. Also the teeing area is typically range mat or rubber and all tee shot played off a tee, meaning that it’s not much help for your wedge play. Saying that they are okay for improving your distance judgement and shot chips around the greens. I’d put a scratch P&P player up against any pro on a P&P course, but most P&P player would struggle big time on a golf course. They have very unique P&P swing. I used to think they were much the same kind of game but they are very different. Great for starting kids out on their golfing journeys though.

Love my TSi, only club that's out driven my old TM super-tri. Still have my 910D2 also, which is like throwing darts, but the distance out of the TSi is ridiculous. Best thing that I ever did to the Cally FTi was accidentally run it over when I forgot the golf bag was behind the vehicle. Everyone knew when I was on the course with that club.... sounded like an empty tin can.

I agree lynx irons are pretty decent,when I first started I was 26 handicap,I bought set lynx black cat irons,I got down to 15 handicap using these lynx set no driver used as I kept slicing,my average round was 80-85 I had to move onto a different set mizuno mx19.but mid to high handicap golf could do worse than set lynx irons,I think Fred couples used lynx irons when he was world number 1

I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...

Im 64. Call me crazy but i am still hitting the Ping G2 i bought new back in 2005. Still get 285 to (300 from time to time) from the whites with it... Think I paid around $400 for it back then.

If you play the same regular courses, you should not need a "range finder". Most par 5's since I can't reach the green in 2, I hit like a 6 or 7 iron on my second shot looking to leave myself around 100 yards, which is a "full" swing P wedge. Always take a full swing. You'll hit the ball straighter and always know your distance you can hit. And I can't tell you how many "long drive" contests I won hitting just 250 yards. Being the only one in the fairway. Slowed down my swing, and now hit the ball straighter. Who knew? lol.
